•New
Age and its beliefs
•New Age promotes the
development of the person's own power or divinity. When referring to God, a
follower of New Age is not talking about a transcendent, personal God who
created the universe, but is referring to a higher consciousness within
themselves
•In fact, everything
that the person sees, hears, feels or imagines is to be considered divine.
•. It acknowledges
many gods and goddesses, as in Hinduism. But superseding all is self. Self is

•You

•Distinction in Major religions
•How
distinct are these major religions?
•
We find tremendous diversity in major
belief systems and their views of God,
•Hindus
acknowledge multitudes of gods and goddesses but believe in one God
•Buddhists
say there is no deity. New Age followers believe they are God.
•Muslims
believe in a powerful but unknowable God.
•Christians
believe in a God who is loving and approachable.
•Are
all religions worshiping the same God?
•The
world's major religions (Hinduism, New Age, Buddhism, Islam, and Christaibity (following Jesus Christ) are each quite unique Each
considers his God to be supertor to others.New age and Buddhust and Jains donot believe in God
•Science
and Religion
•Science and Religion
• The relationship
between religion and science has been a subject of study since classical antiquity, addressed by
philosophers, theologians, scientists, and others.
•it
as one of harmony, and others proposing little interaction.
•
It would be a big mistake for people to use the science form of life rules on
expressions in the religious form of life that appear to be similar to
empirical claims. How is one to know when the claim is not being used as
in everyday form of life or in the science form of life?
•
•Malpractices
•Fundamentalism
•Fundamentalism usually has a religious connotation that indicates
unwavering attachment to a set of irreducible beliefs.
• However,
t is characterized by a markedly strict literalism as applied to
certain specific scriptures, dogmas, or ideologies, and a strong sense of the
importance of maintaining a in -group and out-group distinctions, leading
to an emphasis on purity and the desire to return
to a previous ideal from
which advocates believe members have strayed.
•
• Objectionable provisions in
some religions
•1.
Some religions are more violent than other
religions.
• 2 Some religions opposes equal rights for the
sexes.
3. some religions supports torture.
.
4 some religions impose laws
on other religions
If
Fundamentalists are somehow not
allowed to prevail over others
and literal meanings are not taken , then these
religions will become more
bearable and pleasant and if each person gives love and respect to each
other more and more harmony and peace will prevail.
•Already movements for
equal rights to women are being demanded
under human rights in all
countries. In India these rights have
already been given.
•Atrocities
Committed in the Name of Religion
•Islamic jihads (holy
wars), mandated by the Koran, killed over 20 millions.
•If humanitarian
interpretation of Jihad is accepted , the killings in name of Religion
can be eliminated .

The overall societal process including Industrialization
by which previously agrarian, historical and contemporary societies become

modernized societies. The term includes a wider range of social processes than
industrialization.
At the present time, the religion is influenced by
modernization because of emerging some factors such as growing technology,

•Modernization of
Religions
•With the onset of
the modernisation of and
the scientific
revolution in
the western world, some aspects of religion have cumulatively been criticized.
•Now the
followers comprising of new age are trying to modulate interpret the old
testaments in a modern way so that fear of religion is done away
•and religions are
interpreted in away to go along the modern time of mechanization and
computerization to achieve understanding , tolerance amongst people of new generations..
• New Religions are
being born to achieve this end.
•Religions similar to Bahai’s and New age are developing now, but still where
monolithic religions are prevailing, there , no tolerance, is visible and still inhuman activities are taking place, in
middle east. and elsewhere in World.
Some new religions have born out of major religions in the Twentieth century altering some concepts which were considered
objectionable.

•Conclusion
•There
are two types of religion
•
1. one considers rebirth in one creation
as well as after dissolution of this creation
according to actions in this world and in next creations. Etc.
2. others limit
to only one birth in a creation and
silent on what happens after death, but
believe in justice by God after death
.They believe in soul but don’t know whether soul dies or gets rebirth after
dissolution of the present creation to
face justice of God..
•It
is necessary to examine
:Is there some genetic base for religion? Something that makes us
religious?
•
Something that characterizes our species as homeo
religious?
•Something
that is hardwired inside of us that drives us to think in a manner that is
common to religion?
•
My comments
My comments
•I
have to make my comments as follows.
•The
Religion is a way which person knowingly
or unknowingly belief which takes a form of deity whom you call by different
names one of which is God, Parmatma or Khuda. We are living
our lives based on our genetics, the influence of environment, climatic
conditions and interaction with persons in society we move in.
•It
may change with persons exposure to other societies using a life guided by
another religion. It is one’s requirement for progressing and developing to
become more humane.
